This Seymour Duncan Custom Shop pickup has been created with standard (short) legs, rather than the long legs that the regular SH-1 pickup has. For guitars where the long legs will not fit within the cavity routed in your guitar.
The Seymour Duncan SH-1b is a versatile PAF-type humbucker similar to the original "Patent Applied For" humbucker that was invented by Seth Lover at Gibson in the 1950's. Great for country, jazz, blues, funk, classic rock and heavy rock. This pickup provides a late-'50s, vintage-correct, humbucker sound. The sound is warm with crystalline clean tones and provides full and bright distorted tones, with smooth sustain. Classic appointments include plain enamel wire, vintage single conductor cable and no logo. Compared to the SH-55 Seth Lover, the '59 has slightly more scooped mids and is vacuum wax potted for squeal-free performance.
Available in both neck (SH-1n) and bridge (SH-1b) models. Often a '59 neck is used together with a hotter bridge pickup like the SH-4 JB or SH-13 Dimebucker for extra versatility. Designed for balanced and warm instruments. Works especially well with mahogany bodies and rosewood fingerboards.
