The SH-16 combines the lush, vintage sound of the SH-1 '59 model with the hotter crunch of the SH-5 Duncan Custom humbuckers. Recommended for blues, rock, pop, and classic rock.
The SH-16 Model 59/Custom Hybrid uses a unique hybrid construction that pairs an SH-1 '59 Alnico 5 coil with an SH-5 Custom coil for crisp, clear highs, powerful lows, and a complex midrange growl. Use in the bridge position with any vintage-output neck humbucker, such as the '59 or the Alnico 2 Pro.
Expect crisp, clear highs, ample lows, and aggressive midrange growl in humbucking mode. Splitting the coils yields the strong, full sound of the Custom coil with its 7k DC resistance. The dynamics are superb: the '59/Custom Hybrid snarls when you dig in, but cleans up when you lighten up. This powerful, versatile and expressive pickup is particularly well suited to lead guitar work.
