Note: This is the very latest model of the HFN pickup that has the new ABS base. This replaces the original model that had a rosewood base. The new ABS base transfers more resonance from the soundboard to the pickup sensor, which provides increased clarity and detail, along with slightly higher output.
The Schatten HFN-C Artist Under-bridge Guitar Pickup is a high quality piezo transducer with a dual channel endpin jack preamp designed for internal installation on any nylon string guitar. This HFN pickup is specifically designed to span the center brace found on nylon string guitars.

The HFN-C models give you a sound that is much more realistic and acoustic than anything that you have ever experienced before. More realism in attack, more realism in overall response, these pickups actually allow your instrument to sound just as good plugged in as it does unplugged. The only thing missing from the HFN-C in a classical is the 'quack' that everyone has come to expect and accept in classical acoustic pickups. There is nothing artificial about the sound of the HFN-C's as the accurately reproduce the actual acoustic sound of the instrument.
The HFN-C Artist includes a high quality dual channel preamp built into a prewired endpin jack. The Artist preamp has a spare second channel with its own preamp that can be used to add another piezo pickup (not included). Trim pots on the preamp allow adjusting the balance between the HFN and the other pickup. You would then use a stereo cable (not included) to run the separate pickup signals to your dual channel amplifier, mixer or PA system. Adding a second pickup requires soldering to connect to the preamp, professional installation recommended.
Using the optional CAB-1 cable, the Artist preamp can be powered externally from phantom power or from the optional RP-1 external battery box, eliminating the need to install a 9 volt battery inside the guitar. (CAB-1 cable and RP-1 external battery box not included, available separately.)
