The Schatten HFN Artist Under-bridge Guitar Pickup is a high quality piezo transducer with a dual channel endpin jack preamp designed for internal installation on any acoustic guitar. This HFN pickup is designed for steel string guitars, and will work on both 6-string and 12-string guitars as well as tenor, parlor and baritone guitars.

"The sound of this new guitar pickup is as close to that of a good quality mic as you've ever heard from a guitar pickup..."

The Schatten HFN pickups give you a sound that is much more realistic than that of under-the-saddle pickups and is quite close to the sound of a good microphone. Along with being simple to install, the HFN's have excellent feedback rejection and good string-to-string balance. There is nothing artificial about the sound of the HFN and it does not have the usual compressed 'quackiness' inherent in most undersaddle pickup systems.

The HFN Artist includes a high quality dual channel preamp built into a prewired endpin jack. The Artist preamp has a spare second channel with its own preamp that can be used to add another piezo or magnetic pickup (not included). Trim pots on the preamp allow adjusting the balance between the HFN and the other pickup. You would then use a stereo cable (not included) to run the separate pickup signals to your dual channel amplifier, mixer or PA system. Adding a second pickup requires soldering to connect to the preamp, professional installation recommended.

Using the optional CAB-1 cable, the Artist preamp can be powered externally from phantom power or from the optional RP-1 external battery box, eliminating the need to install a 9 volt battery inside the guitar. (CAB-1 cable and RP-1 external battery box not included, available separately.)
