About 80% of the sound from a resonator guitar comes from the cone(s), which gives it that unique, bell-like tone. Reproducing that complex sound accurately has been the goal for pickup manufacturers.
Resonator guitar pickups can be in the form of specially-designed, high-resonance sensors that attach directly (or indirectly) to the cone, bridge or saddle, but you can also use a magnetic pickup that is designed to fit at the end of the fretboard if you need an easy-to-install solution.
We have years of experience matching pickup systems to resonator guitars of all types, including biscuit bridge, spider bridge and tricone resonators, as well as for resonator mandolins. Give us a call if you need some help choosing the right pickup for your resonator guitar.
