The McIntyre VT-700 Transducer Disc Violin Pickup is a very sensitive, highly responsive natural sounding pickup that is externally mounted. The pickup includes a prewired Carpenter-style jack that easily attaches to the side of the violin.

The output of this pickup is sufficient to drive an amplifier directly in most cases. If you are plugging into a mixer board or PA system or need to run the signal through effects pedals or other equipment, you may need a preamp to increase the signal strength to match that equipment.
