The Lace Alumitone Deathbucker is a high output, split coil, current-based humbucker. This model includes an integrated matching trim ring (non-removable).
Huge top and bottom end. Huge passive design. Cool looks. This radical departure from traditional pickup design is aluminum based, rather than copper. This results in less resistance and higher output, and is coupled to a "current driven design" as opposed to conventional voltage based pickups. The aluminum water jet cut exoskeleton is then mated to a micro winding using 90% less fine copper wire, resulting in a low impedance/high output pickup.
The Alumitone pickups provide more bass then traditional humbucker dual coil pickups, more volume, and mids are slightly more pronounced than conventional pickups. The Alumitone is voiced for the classic mid-range humbucker tone. Highs are clear yet smooth, and nicely equalized. With a 5-position switch they provide surprisingly very stratty in-between tones. Installing two of these Alumitones on your guitar will save you 1/3 lb of weigh and increase your guitar's resonance!
Note: Alumitones require a rectangular cutout due to the squared corners, a simple modification of your pickguard may be required.
