The K&K Sound Violinissimo Pro is a high output three sensor pickup system for violin and viola that includes a professional quality side-mounted 1/4" Carpenter jack. This system will plug directly into your amplifier using a standard instrument cable (not included).
The K&K Violinissimo system includes three high-output pickup sensors. The two larger sensors are wedged between the violin's top and each bridge foot. The third smaller sensor is stuck into one wing slot of the bridge. The Violinissimo has been designed for musicians who wish to achieve an extraordinarily natural, acoustic sound without feedback.
The sensors positioned underneath the bridge's feet produce an extremely full and smooth sound because the bridge applies vertical pressure to the piezo elements. This allows the low frequencies and the complex sound elements of the violin's body to be picked up. The pickup sensor in the bridge's wingslot adds brilliance and clarity to the sound. All three sensors together transmit a perfectly balanced violin sound.
The side-mounted Carpenter jack accepts a standard 1/4" input and mounts securely to the side of your instrument like a chinrest. The Violinissimo Pro includes a jack that will fit all standard violins, but will not open wide enough for a viola. Longer turnbuckles for use on a viola are available separately, please contact us for details.
This high output pickup system can drive most amplifiers directly, without the need for a preamp. If you are plugging into a PA system or mixer board, you may require a preamp to increase the signal strength to match that system. We recommend the K&K Pure Preamp or the K&K Pure XLR Preamp, both of which are perfectly matched to the K&K pickups.
* For use on a viola you will need longer turnbuckles for the side-mounted Carpenter jack, which are available separately. Please contact us before purchasing if you are using this pickup for a viola.
