The K&K Sound UltraPure Mini System is an active pickup system with a soundhole mounted preamp/eq for steel string guitars. It consists of K&K's award-winning Pure Mini Pickup, the UltraPure soundhole-mounted preamp/eq, a prewired endpin jack, and a hook-and-loop mounted 9-volt battery holder. This model includes a gold strap button instead of the standard chrome strap button.
The newly designed UltraPure Preamp features +/-20 db bass/low, K&K's proprietary wide band midrange, and treble/high controls, plus internal gain trimmer. The addition of a phase switch is one of the most important tools for live sound amplification. Also includes a volume control and low battery indicator. All features are easily accessed at the soundhole.
The K&K UltraPure Preamp is designed to be mounted at the edge of a standard soundhole. A 2.5mm male connector is provided to allow solderless connection of the included Pure pickup to the preamp. Includes battery holder and prewired 1/4" endpin jack, along with installation hardware and instructions. Fits round soundholes from about 3.75" to 4.25".
The K&K Sound Pure Mini is an award-winning passive three-sensor pickup system designed for steel string guitars. No battery, no onboard electronics, just the pure pickups. Don't be fooled by the sound of some competitors' "thin sounding" passive systems. The Pure Systems are definitely different. They sound full and rich and reproduce the natural acoustic sound of your guitar.
The highly sensitive Pure pickup sensors transmit a significant portion of the soundboard because of their position on the bridge plate inside the guitar. Each of the three sensors is designed to pick up a specific string pair, but also "listens" to the adjacent area around the bridge. The Pure pickups are not under pressure and therefore do NOT sound percussive or harsh. The Pure System reproduces all strings nicely balanced, a known problem with undersaddle pickups. Unlike undersaddle pickups which can sound thin and trebley, the Pure system puts out a nicely balanced, warm, full range signal.
