The K&K Sound Pure 12-String with Volume is a passive three-sensor pickup system for 12-string and high-voiced guitars. No battery, no onboard electronics, just the Pure pickups. Don't be fooled by the sound of some competitors' "thin sounding" passive systems. The Pure Systems are definitely different. They sound full and rich and have sufficient output to drive most amplifiers directly, without the need for a preamp. This model includes a soundhole mounted passive volume control thumbwheel, and a gold strap button instead of the standard chrome strao button.
The K&K Pure 12-String's larger pickup heads produce an extra strong bass response and pronounced midrange. While this bass and midrange response is too strong for many guitars, especially very resonant ones, it sounds great in 12-string guitars and is a good alternative for guitars with heavy spruce tops and maple bridge plates or guitars that have a naturally bright sound.
The Pure 12-String can be installed with K&K's removable "on tape" mounting system. Stick the tape to the bridge plate first and superglue the pickups to the special polyester tape (supplied). If you want to remove the system simply pull off the tape with the pickup discs on it.
Note! Because the pickup heads are quite large, please check the bridge plate size of your guitar with the original size diagram of the Pure 12-String sensors, which can be found on the K&K Sound website. If your guitar does not have sufficient space under the bridge, you should use the Pure Mini system instead.
The K&K Pure 12-String has sufficient output to drive most amplifiers directly without the need for a preamp. If you are plugging into a PA system or mixer board, you may need a preamp to increase the signal strength to match that system. We recommend the K&K Pure Preamp or the K&K Pure XLR Preamp, both of which are perfectly matched to the K&K Pure pickup systems.
