In the K&K Sound Meridian Mandolin Pro Microphone system, the unidirectional studio quality condenser Meridian Microphone is paired with the new Meridian Pro preamp that features all the controls you will ever need. The Meridian Pro Preamp features a 3 band EQ, phase switch, adjustable input gain, line out and balanced XLR active DI out all in one box. The Meridian Pro preamp can run from a single 9 volt battery or XLR phantom power, and supplies 5 VDC to power the Meridian condenser mic.
The K&K Meridian Mandolin Pro Microphone System includes a specially designed side-mount clamp that allows quick attachment to most A and F style mandolins. The clamp adjusts from 1.75" to 2.25" and has a heavy duty dense foam pad at the top bracket, and a cork pad on the bottom bracket, as well as a protective pad on the back of the microphone attachment plate. Adjustable turnbuckles allow a very secure attachment that will not pull off when performing.
The Meridian microphone has one serious advantage over an internal microphone. It is NOT inside the instrument. The true mandolin sound logically happens outside the mandolin body. Inside there are various sound reflections that do not represent the true tone of your instrument. An external mic captures the mandolin sound as YOU hear it. The mic sounds silky smooth with amazing feedback rejection.
