The K&K Sound Meridian Mandolin Microphone System has a studio quality unidirectional condenser microphone that is paired with the Meridian preamp that features an adjustable midrange contour control (trim pot) to shape the sound and fight feedback. The Meridian preamp can run from XLR phantom power or from an optional DC adapter, and supplies 5 VDC to power the Meridian condenser mic. The mic sounds silky smooth with amazing feedback rejection and the convenience of an adjustable clamp that securely fits your mandolin. K&K's special gooseneck design guarantees that the mic will stay solid in the position you put it.
The K&K Meridian Mandolin Microphone System includes a specially designed side-mount clamp that allows quick attachment to most A and F style mandolins. The clamp adjusts from 1.75" to 2.25" and has a heavy duty dense foam pad at the top bracket, and a cork pad on the bottom bracket, as well as a protective pad on the back of the microphone attachment plate. Adjustable turnbuckles allow a very secure attachment that will not pull off when performing.
The Meridian microphone has one serious advantage over an internal microphone. It is NOT inside the instrument. The true mandolin sound logically happens outside the mandolin body. Inside there are various sound reflections that do not represent the true tone of your instrument. An external mic captures the mandolin sound as YOU hear it.
We found that the Meridian mic allows for considerable volume even with small acoustic amps. It is the ideal addition for the player who wants to add a high quality microphone without any alteration to the instrument. Plus, one single Meridian Mic will serve multiple instruments! And, like any K&K product, you buy quality workmanship proudly made in the United States. The Meridian Mandolin Microphone System comes in a sturdy foam padded plastic transport case.
