The K&K Sound Bass Master Pro is a pickup combination system for upright bass, consisting of the Double Big Twin four-sensor bridge pickups, a Bass Max wing-slot sensor, and a specially designed two-channel preamp with a stereo cable.
The combination of pickups included with the K&K Bass Master Pro delivers the most complete transmission range for the versatile upright bass player. The Double Big Twin four-sensor pickup transmits very high and very low frequencies, which makes it especially suitable for jazz bass. The high frequency translation ensures a clean amplification of the finger attack with picked bass. The Bass Max wing-slot sensor emphasizes the midrange, which adds power, presence and definition to the sound. When playing arco, we recommend favoring the wing-slot pickup sensor.
The Bass Master Pro preamp is a two-channel, belt clip unit that features two volume controls, a stereo input, and a line level output on the outside of the box. Inside the box, there are adjustable controls for Gain, Bass and Treble for each channel. The tone controls offer an incredible +/- 20 dB. A stereo cable is included to connect the pickup system to the preamp. You will also need a standard 1/4" mono instrument cable (not included) to plug the preamp into your amplifier.
To keep the preamp box as small as possible the gain and EQ controls are trim pots (small potentiometers inside the preamp box) that can be adjusted with the included precision screwdriver. Once you install the pickups, you can pop off the snap-on preamp cover and adjust the two channels with these trim pots to your personal preference and needs. While performing, the two volume knobs on the outside allow for quick adjustments and blending of the two pickup systems.
