The Fishman Classic Series Banjo Pickup is an active electromagnetic design w/neodymium magnets and hum-cancelling stacked coil construction. The preamp unit clamps onto the coordinator rods under the head. The pickup sensor detects the movement of a metal shim which is attached to the underside of the head. Runs on a 9V battery (5000+ hours). A standard 1/4" jack mounts on the flange.
