The Fishman Ellipse Matrix Blend is an integrated pickup system for steel and nylon string guitars that includes the popular Matrix undersaddle pickup, along with a specially designed high quality condensor mic mounted on a flexible boom, and the famous Ellipse soundhole mounted controller. The Fishman Ellipse Matrix Blend has been upgraded with the Matrix Infinity Preamp System and newly improved mic arm.
The Fishman Ellipse Matrix Blend has been completely redesigned with a super low-noise onboard preamp system, based on the Matrix Infinity preamp. The Ellipse controller is an ergonomic soundhole-mounted design that puts slider controls at your fingertips to maintain a natural playing position. This system features the world's best selling undersaddle pickup, the Acoustic Matrix, along with a custom-designed cardioid condenser mini-microphone with gooseneck mount and accessible mic/pickup blending.
The Ellipse soundhole-mounted preamp features switchable voicing to accommodate all guitar body sizes, string types and performance situations, and employs a unique patent-pending neodymium magnetic mounting system for easy, solder-free installation. The Ellipse preamp includes a feedback-fighting Phase switch, a Mic trim control, a Blend control to blend the mic and the Matrix undersaddle pickup, and a master Volume control. Accommodates most round soundholes from 3-7/8" (98mm) to 4-1/8" (105mm) in diameter.
The Matrix undersaddle pickup is the same pickup used in all of the Matrix products, and features a solder-free connection to the Ellipse preamp. The Ellipse Matrix Blend runs from a single 9 volt battery not included). Standard overall pickup length of 2.65"(67.3mm) will fit most guitars with string spacings of up to 2.5" (63.5mm). Professional installation is recommended.
