BASIK PRO - The contact pick-up for all stringed instruments. Simply apply the special kit supplied, and BASIK contact microphone will convey the body vibrations with high precision producing a natural acoustic sound. With the BASIK-PRO, the microphone can be plugged in a PA system or mixer through the phantom power adapter box supplied with 48 volts via phantom power. This product has been conceived specifically for professional musicians.
This revolutionary acoustic transducer offers incredibly natural and individual sound reproduction for each member of the acoustic instrument family. BASIK takes into consideration the "musical aspects" of the applicaitons. Schertler strives not only for a technical solution to amplifying an acoustic instrument, but to accurately reproduct the instrument's unique sound, not to recreate or reinvent it. The signal response is so dynamic that there is no need to change your playing style when amplified.
The BASIK-PRO has been conceived for pro audio and recording studio applications: the BASIK-PRO is supplied 48V power through the included Phantom power adapter to let you connect directly to a mixer or PA system. The BASIK-PRO can also be directly connected to the Schertler DAVID or UNICO amplifiers to the STAT input with 10V switch ON, without any adapter.
Multi-Instrument Use
The Schertler BASIK-PRO can be used with most stringed instruments, including acoustic guitar (steel or nylon stringed), cello, violin, viola, upright bass, mandolin, ukulele, lute, banjo, bouzouki, sitar, kalimba, harp and many other instruments. It can also be used on various percussion instruments, such as hand drums, congas, and so on.
Installation
The BASIK-PRO requires no modifications to your instrument, and is completely removable. Installation is incredibly easy with the inert putty included with the BASIK-PRO. With the help of the manual you will locate the correct spot on your instrument for perfect sound reproduction. Once the pickup sensor is installed, connect the attached 10 foot cable to the external power box, and then connect the power box to your amplifier or PA system using a standard XLR instrument cable (not included).
