Archtop Guitar Pickups are available in two distinct styles. Bridge replacement pickups are designed to replace your existing ebony bridge with a new bridge that has a pickup sensor embedded directly in the bridge. These types of pickups usually provide better string articulation and tend to sound bright and clear. These are easy to install, but may not be a good choice if you have a custom bridge.
Archtop Guitar Pickups are also available with sensors that attach to the soundboard or are placed under the bridge feet. In some cases, these sensors can be attached directly to an existing bridge. Soundboard sensors tend to provide more warmth and depth than embedded bridge sensors, but may lack the brightness and accuracy of a sensor that is embedded directly into the bridge.
