Warranty Information
All of the products we sell are brand new in the box and covered by the manufacturer's warranty unless otherwise noted. We do not perform repairs or replacements of defective items, these need to be returned directly to the manufacturer for warranty repair or replacement. See the product documentation or contact us for warranty and repair information.
If you have received a product that appears to be defective or is missing any parts, please contact us before returning the item. We may be able to assist you to get the product working correctly, determine the problem or arrange to have any missing parts sent to you.
Returns Policy
We accept returns of products in new, mint condition within 30 days of purchase, or within 15 days of receipt for international shipments. A return authorization is required for all returns. All returns must be in new, mint condition, with all of the original packaging, parts and materials intact and undamaged in any way. If an item is returned that is not in new condition, or if it has been opened and resealed or has any signs of use, it will be returned to you, or an adjustment to the refund amount may be made. We do our best to provide you with all the information you need to make a qualified purchase decision - please review that information and be sure of your purchase before you buy.
Non-Returnable Items
Opened/Installed Electronic Items - We do not accept returns on installed items unless otherwise authorized by the manufacturer. For pickups, preamps, electronic devices and any other parts that contain electronics or electrical parts, we do not accept returns if an installation has been attempted, or if the product has been opened. This applies to both active (powered) and passive (non-powered) electronics of any kind. Only brand new items in the unopened box will be accepted for return. If you have already opened or installed an electronic item, we will accept a return only if the return is authorized by the manufacturer.
Software - We will accept returns on software only if the software is factory sealed and never opened, and in new, mint condition. We do not accept returns on opened software, no exceptions. If you have a problem or issue with any software purchased from us, you must resolve that issue directly with the software manufacturer. We can provide you with contact information for the manufacturer.
Other Non-Returnable Items - For health reasons, certain items cannot be returned once they are opened including but not limited to harmonicas, melodicas, recorders, whistles, pitch pipes, woodwind and brass instruments and mouthpieces, microphones, headsets, earpieces, and similar products. We do not accept returns of the following items: strings, cables, adapters, picks and similar accessories, and special order or closeout items.
Return Authorizations
We do not accept returns without a Return Merchandise Authorization number (RMA). You can obtain an RMA from us by request via email, phone or fax. Please include a reason for return and a copy of the original Blue Star Music invoice. If authorized, we will issue an RMA number to you via email or fax. You must write the RMA number clearly on the outside of the shipping package, or it will be refused. Please DO NOT mark on the product packaging.
Shipping Returned Items
You are responsible for any shipping costs to return the item to us. The item must be well packed and shipped via a trackable shipping method, such as UPS, Fedex or USPS. We are not responsible for items that are lost or damaged in transit to us, therefore we recommend that you insure the item for the full purchase amount when shipping. For international shipments, we require a trackable and insured shipping method such as USPS Global Express Mail, and the box must be marked as RETURNED ITEM with a value of [[layout:content]].00. Please note that we will NOT accept any shipments that require duties, taxes or other fees to be paid on receipt.
Restocking Fees
There is a minimum restocking fee charged for returned items. The restocking fee is a minimum of 10% or $5.00, whichever is greater, but may be more if the product is returned with missing or damaged parts or packaging. This restocking fee is designed to offset our handling and/or repackaging costs. At our discretion, restocking fees may be waived for exchanges or store credit if the returned item is in new and resellable condition and you are exchanging for an item of equal or greater value. Shipping costs are not refundable, even if the restocking fees are waived. If an item is purchased with free shipping, the actual shipping and handling costs incurred for your order will be deducted from your refund.
Refunds for Returned Items
If the return is authorized, we will issue a refund using the same method of payment that was used to purchase the item. If you paid via check or money order, we will issue you a check. If you paid via credit card, we will issue you a credit to the same card only - we cannot issue refunds to alternate credit cards. If you paid via PayPal, the refund will apply to the original PayPal transaction. Please allow 3-5 days to process your return.
